You’ve spent months—sometimes years—bringing a vision to life. My role is to capture more than just how it looks; I capture how it feels. Through thoughtful imagery, I convey the character, atmosphere, and essence of your project, along with the environment that gives it context.
Many projects can be captured in a day; others require more time.
What follows is a breakdown of my workflow from our first contact to project completion.
There are six stages: first contact, quote & contract, pre-production, Shoot Day!, proofing & editing, and delivery.
1. First Contact
When you reach out to me, I will send you a questionnaire, or discuss with you directly, to establish a framework for a quote:
– project type
– location of project
– number of deliverables expected
– expected licensing & usage
– time frame available for completion
2. Quote and Contract
I will send you the preliminary quote, and then we will hash out the details:
– phone conversations or meetings
– scope of work agreement
– licensing needs
– final quote for project
At the end of this process, we will have agreed on the scope of work and I will send you a contract.
The contract must be signed along with a 50% deposit to move forward.
Your project will not be scheduled until this deposit is paid.
3. Pre-Production
Anything and everything we can do beforehand to make the shoot day go smoothly and efficiently will be handled during this step, including:
– site questionnaire
– phone conversations or meetings
– setting up site access and all needed permissions/waivers/releases, etc.
– advanced scouting (if applicable)
– contingency planning
4. Shoot Day
A day is as long as it takes.
After arriving at the location, making introductions, walking through the project, and getting loaded in and set up, the shoot will begin.
While I will be photographing everything that catches my eye, priority will be given to client requested compositions, if any, as agreed upon in the scope of work.
Lights, scrims and flags (black cloth to block light) may be set up on site to shape the light.
I may move furniture and adjust or move everyday items to enhance the space for the best possible images.
At some point we will break to eat, usually the sun tells us when.
5. Proofing & Editing
This is where the entire pre-production and shoot day process culminates into final images.
The photographs are culled, given basic adjustments, and provided via an online proofing gallery for you to make selections from. You will also be able to make notes regarding desired edits to specific selected images for me.
I can also advise on what images I think really captured the project.
It is common for the retouching to take longer than the shooting process. Up to seven business days should be allowed for retouching.
You will then be sent final proofs for approval.
The retouching process typically includes color corrections, contrast and exposure adjustments, distraction removal and advanced Photoshop techniques to create the final image.
Extensive retouching beyond the basics will require a separate quote.
6. Delivery
And finally, what this has all been about…the final images!
The images have all been edited, retouched and approved.
They will be digitally delivered to you along with the final invoice.

FYI:
Standard image delivery includes full-size high-quality jpeg images in the RGB color space.
If you wish TIFF files or other color spaces, please just ask. Raw files will not be provided as
they do not represent the completed work.
